FAQs
What makes Amish-built cabinetry special?
All cabinets offered at JSB are Amish-built right here in Ohio. New cabinets are solid hardwood and refacing projects use ¼” hardwood sheets. All hardwood materials ensure that the cabinets we install are as strong and durable as they are beautiful. They are custom-made for your project, meaning you can select any style and color you wish to create your own unique kitchen design.
Amish cabinets come standard with features that are seen as hallmarks of traditional quality such as Dovetail drawer box joints, hardwood core doors and drawer fronts, all hardwood cabinet boxes, and drawer guides rated for 100 lbs. load capacity.
What is the difference between cabinet refacing and full cabinet replacement?
In cabinet refacing, the face of the cabinet (the face frame, drawer fronts, and doors) will be updated with new materials in the style of your choosing. The inside of the cabinet, the cabinet box and the shelves, will remain the same.
Replacing kitchen cabinets involves removing the entire existing cabinet, box and all, and replacing them with brand-new cabinets.
Check out this article in our learning center for more details on kitchen cabinet refacing versus replacing.
Can we reface the existing cabinets and add some new ones?
Yes, you can combine refacing and new cabinets in one project. We call these hybrid project. For example, you can reface all of the upper and lower cabinets that you currently have and add or replace a pantry cabinet.
What are cabinet accessories?
There are a wide variety of accessories available for kitchen cabinets that help organize contents and maximize the functionality of the cabinets. These include features such as:
- Built-in Utensil Organizers
- Pan Organizers
- Roll-out Trays
- Adjustable Shelves (stationary shelves and roll-out trays)
- Single and Double Bin Trash Roll-Out
- Cookie Tray Pull-Out
- Spice Rack Pull-out
- And More…
Does JSB install kitchen countertops?
JSB does not install kitchen countertops but we will coordinate with a countertop company on schedules to make sure your new countertop is installed on time. This ultimately saves you money. Since you would purchase your countertop directly from the countertop supplier, you don’t have to pay our markup.
We have good working relationships with multiple countertop suppliers in the Columbus area so you will have a wide range of countertop selections. You can see samples and we can help you make design selections during a showroom appointment. Check out our list of the best kitchen countertops in our learning center!
Does JSB do kitchen flooring?
No, JSB does not install kitchen flooring. We can recommend flooring companies and coordinate on schedules but replacing kitchen flooring usually means replacing the floor in a larger area of your home than just the kitchen.
In most homes, there is not a breakpoint between the kitchen flooring and the dining room or living room for example. This makes floor replacement a much larger project and it is more cost-effective for you to work directly with a flooring company who can do the entire floor all at once.
